It’s getting to that time of the year when the alkali lakes, which abound in the Cariboo Chilcotin region of BC, will start their colourful journey throughout the summer months. During the heat of summer there are algae blooms which bring out a myriad of colours; they change daily! They are called calcareous lakes.
I remember flying over them while photographing for my Flyover book. I was amazed by their beauty. There was art in the bush!
