The Painted Chasm is a wonderful place to visit in spring. You can find it just south of 70 Mile; a few short kilometers off highway 97. When the last ice age glacier was melting, a stream cut through the lave here to form this Chasm. You can see the coloured lines which represent the numerous lava flows that occurred several million years ago. It’s worth a visit, and remember, you can walk down either side of the Chasm for some distance. It’s a great place to explore. Enjoy!
