I visited the largest sand dune in British Columbia recently, and spent an unbelievable night out under the stars. Naturally, I spent most of the night photographing!
I spent a lot of time experimenting, trying to perfect various techniques. I made time exposures of varying lengths and I tried numerous ways of lighting but around 2am I started to create some amazing imagery. The one I am showing you here shows the ridge line of the Farwell Canyon sand dune and the glow of orange light on the horizon is that of Williams Lake 30-40 kms away. Why go to Namibia for sand dune images when you can drive 30 minutes from Williams Lake??
