When I saw this ‘river of white’, I thought of the Mackenzie River which meanders for miles over the flat arctic tundra toward the Arctic Ocean. I have seen it from the air and I always wanted to make the journey by canoe.
As I made this image, I once again wanted to launch my red cedar-canvas Chestnut canoe into this ‘river of white’ and paddle toward the Arctic Ocean!
I’ll come paddling with you, anytime. Of course – only if Rita declines!
My Soul is ‘itching’ to explore the North

Wow…never thought I’d have a taker on a trip like that! Lots of mosquitoes! But great photography! I’ll look into it!!
Me too Chris. As you know I have always been fascinated by rivers. We had this discussion before flying the various river drainages that day for the Ark book. I would love to drift/paddle the MacKenzie, and the Yukon is another dream.
Yes, I remember that discussion well. Drifting/canoeing the Mackenzie River would be AMAZING!!!
