The Bowron Lakes - A Lifetime Journey

In this presentation Chris celebrates thirty-five years of passion for the wilderness and the twin artistries of paddling and photography. For canoeists, the Bowron Lakes is one of the world's natural wonders and Chris stands out as its strongest and most faithful advocates. He has paddled the Circuit over 100 times and knows the area in every mood and every season. It has shaped his art and his life.

Chris' talk, The Bowron Lakes: A Lifetime Journey, which includes both natural and cultural histories, is accompanied by Chris' adventuresome stories behind the imagery. The result is a new perspective on the Lakes and a pleasurable guide for paddlers, visual artists and nature enthusiasts.

"I was constantly reminded of fine artists ranging from French Impressionists to Emily Carr. Wow!" - Inge Henderson, San Francisco.

Spirit in the Grass - The Cariboo Chilcotin's Forgotten Landscape

Chris' presentation is inspired by the mandate of his most recent book - Spirit in the Grass - to bring awareness to our province's most endangered ecosystem. As publisher, Chris will share his vision for the book which includes both natural and cultural histories. As photographer, Chris will speak from the creative visual arts perspective. In this way, Chris provides a new and fresh avenue to appreciate our beautiful British Columbia grasslands.

"The stunning images in this book evoke wonder and awe, which are essential if we are to love and fight to protect such sacred places". - David Suzuki, Vancouver .
