Situated along the Chilcotin River, this sand dune at Farwell Canyon is British Columbia's largest. By climbing up the canyon walls long before sunrise I was able to prepare for the creation of this image. By making the photograph a mere few minutes after sunrise I was able to accentuate the arrangement of long lead-in abstract shapes with-low angled, warm light. The resulting colour of the sand plays beautifully with the sky's blue while the California bighorn sheep skull is balanced with the cumulus cloud.
