It is worthwhile to paddle close to the steep, south-facing slopes at the northwest corner of Lanezi Lake in Bowron Lake Park, British Columbia, just to watch the network of lichens on this 400-million-year-old rock outcrop. It was the combination of colour, texture and form that drew me to this particular composition.
