What an incredible way to end an era of guiding over 100 canoe tours around the Bowron Lakes. It was a stormy evening at the campsite, but we were laughing and sharing stories overlooking the wetlands when a shaft of light caught my eye. Miraculously, a small opening in the dark clouds allowed a stream of warm light to land directly on the peaks of McCabe Ridge, reflecting its alpine fire onto the pond before us. A minute later, all light was gone. It was the Last Light, on the Last Night, of my Last Guided Canoe Tour.
