In my mind, Lanezi Lake is the most spectacular lake in Bowron Lake Park, British Columbia. Named from the First Nation Takuli word for 'long' it is flanked on either side by the two highest peaks in the park: Mt. Ishpa meaning 'father' at 2530 m. and Mt. Kaza meaning 'arrowhead' at 2499 m. In the background are two huge cirques that were carved out by hanging glaciers. These glaciers hung just above the main glacier which originated out from the Cariboo Mountains to the east and which carved out Lanezi Lake below. The beautiful green hue of this lake is due to glacial silt lying in suspension and from which light is reflected. The making of this image lies with my fervent response to rich colour.
