Long ago, I affectionately named this campsite on Swan Lake 'The Birches.' Each autumn, birch leaves flutter to the ground here, covering the earth with a blanket of texture. On this particular morning, I was blessed with a gentle snowfall, followed by a diffuse 'soul' light, which revealed the contemplative sense of fulfillment and loss that characterize this season. It is one of my favourite campsites in Bowron Lake Park, British Columbia.
