The Khutzeymateen Valley is a 30 km. long fiord, or inlet, that cuts deeply into the coastal mainland of central British Columbia. One May morning from the deck of a friends sailboat, I witnessed this spectacular vista as the sun rose over the headwaters of the Khutzeymateen River. Reflected shapes created by early morning light revealed the beauty of this world famous grizzly bear sanctuary.
