The Cariboo region of central British Columbia holds an attraction for those wishing to visit a guest ranch and ride the open spaces. Here at the Flying U Ranch, close to one hundred horses let out to pasture after a day of trail rides. I knew the approximate route these horses would take but as I set up my tripod, apprehension set in. Should a hundred horses veer just slightly off course I would find myself in the midst of that billowing dust with little chance of survival! Suddenly there was the sound of thundering hooves . . . I began to shoot . . . and when the dust settled, I gratefully realized they had all galloped by along their prescribed route allowing me the privilege of capturing this image.
